yes, it make you visualize. "It filled the can, it covered the floor,
It cracked the window and blocked the door
." or She'd scour the pots and scrape the pans.Would not take the garbage out! Because the hour is much too late
Yes, it empasize a point because the story is exaggeration.Yes, hyperbole is makr the poems entertaining because it It may be used strong feelings to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally. For example the title say Hyperbole is more important than air.' Everybody knows you need air to survial.
"And so it piled up to the ceilings: "
The garbage may have been piled high but probally not to the ceilling.
"It filled the can, it covered the floor,
It cracked the window and blocked the door "
It probally filled the cans but not coverd the floor or crackerd the windows or blocked the door becase then they would not be able to live in their house.
"
The garbage rolled on down the hall,
It raised the roof, it broke the wall. . . "
The garbage was not rolling down the hall , did not raise the roof and did not break the wall. It would be impossible and un liveable the father would ve tookin the garbage out.
"
At last the garbage reached so high
That it finally touched the sky."
Their garbage pile alone could not reach the sky by its self. Its IMPOSSIBLE. And if it reall touched the sky then it would been out the house just like her father wanted...
"And all the neighbors moved away,
And none of her friends would come to play"
Before the neighbors moved away they wouldve been told by the police or somebody that they had to dispose of their garbage. Also the dad would have takin the garbage out before that happened
"The garbage reached across the state,
From New York to the Golden Gate.
"
In order for her family to produce THAT much garbage she d have to have hundreds of people in her family and eatin a whole bunch of things.
As a reader the poem showed me that the girl was gross. It also makes me want to take my garbage out when i get home. From his writing i visulaized a ditry house. He emphazied his point that sarah stout never took her garbage out. His poem was made more intersiting and fun to read with his emphazies of the garbage that crowded the house.
And so it piled up to the ceilings
It filled the can, it covered the floor,
It cracked the window and blocked the door
The garbage rolled on down the hall,
It raised the roof, it broke the wall. . .

And so it piled up to the ceilings:
_* Thi is a hyperbole because it is impossible for the garbage to pile up that high.
It filled the can, it covered the floor,
_* GARBAGE CANT COVER THE FLOOR. Who would let it get like that lol.
The garbage rolled on down the hall,
It raised the roof, it broke the wall. . .
_* This was funnyy it remined me of the song.
At last the garbage reached so high
That it finally touched the sky.
_* That would be gross, some things arent possible.
The garbage reached across the state,
From New York to the Golden Gate.
_* Thats a long way. Garbage would never go that far the fbi would come and arrest you.
__* All of these things make me visualize alot. For example, I could imagine garbage everywhere and the smell horrid.
"She simply would not take the garbage out.
And so it piled up to the ceilings:"
This makes me visualize all types of trash piling up reaching the ceiling and being everywhere. It emphazises the point that she wouldnt take out the trash and just let it pile up. It helps me to understand she wouldnt take out the trash no matter what and helps keep my interest in the story.
"It filled the can, it covered the floor,
It cracked the window and blocked the door"
This makes me visualize once again alot of trash. It emphasizes the point that the trash is just being piled up and not being taken out. Once again it adds to helping me understand the fact that she wont take out the trash.
This poem makes me stop and think how much trash it really was?Ths poem makes kids want to take out the trash, or else it will pile up and you will loose neighbors and friends. The poem is very entertaining because its very clever.
